Originally called the 'Cadnam Methodist Wives' Group'
founded over 40 years ago, 'Cadnam Ladies' Open Evening'
(C.L.O.E.) aims to welcome women of whatever age or background. The group initially met in members' homes until its
numbers grew too large and the meetings now take place
in the Cadnam Methodist Church hall. The group is
affiliated to the Methodist Church, but women of all
denominations are made welcome.
Around 20 members meet informally each month (except
August) on the second Monday at 7.45pm. to enjoy a
varied programme of speakers and subjects. A devotional
meeting begins each new session in September and there
is also one at Easter-time. The invited speakers to the
devotional meetings may be missionaries or
representatives of Christian charities. An annual
service takes place in the Church in October. Men may
also join the group on the occasion of the three open
meetings during the year.
We are not a fund-raising group but any proceeds from
subscriptions or donations are given annually to a
charity of our choice, usually a local one.
We are a supportive and caring group in which
friendships are forged and fellowship nurtured
